Made by someone who uses it.

Most gear is designed by people who will never wear it. It photographs well and fails in the hand: edges that bite, hardware that rattles, straps that stretch.

Ours comes from a workshop in Dongguan, a major manufacturing hub for adult products worldwide. In a city that makes this much, knowing whose work to trust is the hard part.

The man who runs the workshop has spent more than a decade inside the BDSM community in China. For years he administered one of its largest forums, where he read what people asked for, what failed in use, and what they came back to. Then he opened his own workshop.

He makes pieces he would use himself. The rest come from makers in the same local circle, and only if he is willing to put his name next to them. That is the filter.

I was a member of his community long before we worked together, long enough to trust that filter. I am not the maker. I'm an engineer by training, and my part is the unglamorous one: stating exactly what each piece is and where it came from, shipping discreetly, and answering when you write.

He knows what works. I make sure what we say is true.

Bound by consent. Made to be kept.
